New Head Announcement

Prep Schools Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Mallins as the next Head of Chandlings Prep.

Adam will take up his post in September 2025 following the retirement of Christine Cook.

Adam has been Deputy Head at Crosfields School in Reading since 2019 and has been Acting Head since June this year. He has played a pivotal role at Crosfields during a period of rapid expansion for the school. Prior to Crosfields, Adam was a Senior Housemaster and Head of Boarding at Shiplake College, a senior school near Henley.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Geography and Geology in 1999, Adam worked for the BBC and various other production companies for over a decade as a producer and director before entering the teaching profession. He is a very accomplished sportsman. He represented England at rugby at Under 18 level and played for Walsall and London Irish. He also enjoys musical theatre.

The Trustees were very impressed both by Adam’s passion for education and his excitement at the opportunity to lead Chandlings. He is looking forward to building upon the achievements of Christine Cook and championing the best educational opportunities for the pupils of Chandlings.

Adam will be moving from Crosfields to the Chandlings vicinity next summer with his wife, Elizabeth, a primary school teacher, and two children Rose (13) and Will (10). We look forward to welcoming Adam and his family to Chandlings and to the community of the Trust.
