Spectacular Trust-wide Music Concert
Prep Schools Trust held a wonderful music concert on Thursday 7th November which showcased the musical talents of pupils from across the Trust.
Over 175 pupils from Barfield, Beeston Hall, Chandlings, Cothill, Kitebrook and Mowden Hall came together for an afternoon of rehearsals ahead of the concert in the evening which was held in the stunning venue of the Olivier Hall at St Edwards School in Oxford.
The concert began with 2 contrasting pieces, Waltz of the Flowers and Star Wars Suite played by a Combined Trust Orchestra. Each school then performed a selection of musical items which showcased the amazing array of talent in each school. The concert finale was a Hymn to the Holy Trinity sung by a combined Trust Choir with the audience then joining them for a rousing rendition of Jerusalem.
Over 200 guests came to watch the concert including Trustees, parents, staff and friends of all the schools and for those who couldn’t make it in person, they could enjoy a live streaming of the occasion.
Chief Executive, Tom Beardmore-Gray said: ‘On behalf of Prep Schools Trust, I was delighted to welcome everyone to this special evening of music. This evening was a unique opportunity to showcase both the talents of our pupils and the dedication of all of our music teachers. Music has a special place in all of our schools and our pupils are able to develop their talents from a young age with all the support that they need. Many win awards at leading senior schools or go on to enjoy participating in a variety of ways at their senior schools and beyond.
I am most grateful to St Edward’s for allowing us to host this event at such a special venue. It was a memorable occasion for all of the pupils taking part.
I would like to play special tribute to those whose vision and hard work over many months made the evening possible.’
