Trust Eco Competition

The Trust wide eco-competition took place in May with year 6 pupils presenting to a panel, made up of Trustees and the Trust Executive Board, on their school's approach to environmental, ecological and sustainability issues.

The panel were very impressed with the variety of green initiatives in our schools which included reducing energy and water usage, school vegetable gardens, ways to limit food waste, lift sharing and even the planting of a Miyawaki Forest.

Particularly impressive was the pupils' general knowledge and the way in which they thoughtfully answered questions, linking to all the different things they had learnt in lessons.

Each team also looked to the future and came up with ideas and further steps their school could take to reduce carbon emissions and educate the whole school community about environmental and sustainability issues.
