New Head at Mowden Hall Announced

Tom Beardmore-Gray was delighted to visit Mowden and announce to staff and pupils that Phillip Sturt will be the next Head of Mowden Hall from 1 January 2025. He will take up his appointment upon the departure of Kate Martin at the end of next term. |
Phil joined the Senior Leadership Team of Mowden Hall as Assistant Head (Pastoral) in September 2022 after eleven years with Durham School. During that time he was a Senior Housemaster, teacher of Science to A Level, Contingent Commander of the CCF and Duke of Edinburgh Award Coordinator. Prior to beginning his career in teaching, Phil served for six years as an officer in the British Army. Phil has two children at Mowden.
Kate and Phil will be working closely together next term to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the year.
